Virals: Everton Club Hero Tim Cahill Tweets Major Throwback

Everton hero and ex-Australia international Tim Cahill sparked an outpouring of fan love following a viral tweet re-affirming his love for the club.

Taking to Twitter, the Sydney-born stalwart posted a throwback picture of himself donning the famous blue jersey with a simple caption of ‘Forever Blue’ sandwiched between two blue love heart emojis, symbolising his affections for the Blues.

The dynamo from Down Under retired in 2019, but not before making 226 Premier League appearences.

In that time, he scored 56 goals and 23 assists that cemented him as an Everton hero with a ruthless dynamism that terrorised defences.

With 108 caps for his country, he scored a further 50 goals – representing a ratio of almost one goal for every two caps.

He is something of a journeyman with regards to his career path, having played in countries as varied as China, India and the USA on top of England and his native Australia.

As of March 30th 2021, the throwback tweet has garnered almost three thousand likes and over a hundred retweets as fans flocked to pour love over their fondly-remembered club hero.
