Vlasic slams Allardyce’s style of football

Nikola Vlasic has spoken out about his first season in Everton colours – and one man did not come off particularly well.

Sam Allardyce came in for plenty of criticism during his time at Goodison Park from fans and pundits alike, but now, it seems as though his old players are turning on him too.

Vlasic had joined the Toffees in the summer from Hajduk Split, and found it difficult to establish himself in the first team on Merseyside.

Making 19 appearances in all competitions, the 21-year-old was loaned out for the current season to CSKA Moscow.

Quoted by BBC Sport, Vlasic was less than complimentary about the style of football employed by his old manager Allardyce.

The Croat said:

The team was terrified by everything, the fans mostly,

Everything changed after Koeman left. The football played by ‘Big Sam’ was awful, if it could even be called football.

However, the attacking midfielder was much more complimentary when talking about the football of new boss Marco Silva.

This season, Marco Silva plays different, much nicer football, but has not got results,

It is true that Everton did not make an expected breakthrough but at least fans now look at the normal football in which the guys, through their actions, are trying to score and win.

However, the Croatian international believes he has no future with Everton, saying:

I expect them to sell me as soon as they get their first bid.

Tough to hear, perhaps, for the Everton faithful.

matchday.
