Watford threaten to report Everton over Silva pursuit

Watford have threatened to report Everton to the Premier League for their pursuit of Hornets’ boss Marco Silva.

The Times reports that the Hornets have written to Everton to warm them about their conduct as they search for a new manager.

The Portuguese boss has been linked with the vacant Everton job, with the former Olympiacos man earmarked as the club’s number one managerial target.

Watford have been unwilling to negotiate, with the club desperate to keep hold of their man until the season the end of the season at least.

Reports have suggested that Everton were willing to pay upwards of £20 million in order to get their man, with no release clause inserted into Silva’s contract at Watford.

Everton have still yet to announce a new manager over a month after Ronald Koeman was sacked by the club, with David Unsworth still taking charge of first-team duties on an interim basis.
