Yerry Mina has missed training as he struggles to recover from a knee issue that forced him off against West Ham last weekend.
The centre-back couldn’t finish the game for the Toffees as they beat the Hammers 2-0, making way for Mason Holgate deep into stoppage time.
Everton got back to winning ways against the London club but they will be disheartened to hear of Mina’s injury issues, with this weekend’s tie against Brighton still a must win game for the club if their are to rebuild their season.

While Mina missed Wednesday’s training session, both Morgan Schneiderlin and Fabian Delph returned after having missed the weekend’s game through injury, so reports Sky Sports News.
If Mina cannot return to match fitness by this weekend, Mason Holgate will likely partner Michael Keane at the Amex, with the defender being restricted to Carabao Cup starts at league cameos so far this season.

Missing Mina against the ‘Gulls would be a huge blow for Everton, because the Colombia international has arguably been the club’s best player so far this season.
I count myself among the camp that rates Mason Holgate, so I’m happy to see him come in, although Keane would have been a player more acceptable to lose than Mina.
Everton will need to be at their best once again to beat Brighton, with the South Coast club likely to fight hard for the three points, with them being on a losing run themselves. Should Mina miss the game, Keane and Holgate will need to step up.
