Zlatan Ibrahimovic is nearing a return to AC Milan, according to reports.
The Sweden international forward had been linked with an Everton move over the past month, having been made a free agent after leaving LA Galaxy.
Different reports had suggested that the 38-year old was considering either returning to Milan, hanging up his boots for good, or reuniting with Carlo Ancelotti at Goodison Park, having worked under him at Paris Saint-Germain.

Now according to Sky Sports News, the striker has opted to rejoin the Rossoneri, and a move is edging closer to completion.
Milan have struggled this season under both Marco Giampaolo and Stefano Pioli, and are currently 11th in Serie A.
Ibrahimovic is expected to arrive in Italy on January 1 or 2 to finalise his return to the San Siro, meaning Everton will need to turn their attention to other targets.

Ibrahimovic was only ever going to be a short-term solution to a long-term issue, so losing out on the Swede is fine, because Everton will have other targets.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is performing well at the moment and hopefully Moise Kean will prosper under his compatriot at Everton, so more experience is still needed to bolster the already very youthful options.
