Everton v Burnley: Alex’s XI

The curtain’s closing at Goodison on another season, and it’s been a good one, all things considered.

Mr Silva has injected some much-needed life back into Everton Football Club after years of boredom at best, agony at worst. Regardless of your entire opinion on the manager, there isn’t any doubting that he’s made the team exciting to watch once again.

We have a midfield three that look to be on the same page and are bringing some free-flowing football back to Goodison, and a defence that is looking the most solid it has since Mr Moyes’s departure in 2012.

Some improvements must be made, obviously, and missing out on Europe for another season isn’t exactly ideal either. But given the relegation form we maintained for far too long during the middle of the season, we have done well to claw a top-10 finish out of the campaign.

Let’s enjoy the last night of the season under the lights together, regardless. Here’s how I think Everton should line up against Burnley.

matchday.
