Man United have loan rejected for Everton target Vecino
Inter Milan have rejected a loan approach for Everton and Tottenham target Matias Vecino from Manchester United, according to Sky in Italy.
The Red Devils could not come to an agreement with the Nerazzurri on the specific conditions of the deal, leading Inter to shoot down United’s pursuit of the Uruguayan.
Vecino first emerged as a target for the Toffees last week, with the print version of Corriere dello Sport (cited by Sempre Inter) claiming that the Merseyside club had made an “important” offer for the midfielder.
Since then, various reports have claimed that Everton are either still keen on the 28-year old, or that the Blues have blown their chance, with the latest report from Calciomercato earlier this week claiming that Sevilla have joined Everton in pursuing the Sky Blue international.
Sky Sports report that Inter are determined to shift Vecino this month as they look to raise funds to make signings, and they are now exploring the possibility of an exchange deal that will take Vecino to Napoli, with fellow Everton target Allan moving in the other direction to the San Siro.

Nothing could ever stop the Italian media machine from turning, so here we have yet another story that relates to Everton’s pursuit of Matias Vecino, although admittedly this one has more to do with outside interest.
Should Everton hold genuine interest in the Uruguayan, and that is doubtful following Carlo Ancelotti’s comments about how “all the names in the newspapers/Sky are wrong”, then the club should surely have launched their bid by now. With Spurs knocking on the door and with United making their move, Everton could be set to miss out on yet another target with little over a week remaining of the transfer window.
Ancelotti will have his cards close to his chest, but really there hasn’t been any indication that Everton are even close to completing a signing this month, save for the recruitment of Jarrad Branthwaite to the Under-23s set-up. With little over a week to go, hopefully Everton will have several irons in the fire behind the scenes.
