Carlo Ancelotti’s squad could be in for a further shake-up in January after fresh reports verified the Italian’s interest in signing either Dele Alli or Harry Winks on loan at Everton.
The unsettled duo at Tottenham have both struggled for game time in recent months. In Spurs’ most recent fixture in a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace, the league leaders brought on Alli for a rare appearance, whilst Winks failed to make the matchday squad.
According to reports from the Mirror, Ancelotti is a personal admirer of both home-grown talents who face uncertain futures in north London.
Both players are 24 years of age and retain significant potential to improve.
Spurs have found themselves with a wealth of options in all position in their squad, leaving hefty competition for places – leaving Winks and Alli out in the cold as a result.
Alli and Winks are both experienced England internationals but are reportedly increasingly anxious that a lack of minutes is seriously harming their prospects of being called up for the European Championship in the summer.
Everton face heavy competition from French champions PSG to bring Dele Alli in on loan, with the Parisian giants making several offers to the north London side over the summer transfer window.
Spurs boss Jose Mourinho has hinted that he has been keen to shift a few players surplus to requirements in his plans out of the club in a previous Europa League victory.
“I can’t keep the squad happy,” he told BT Sport via the Mirror.
“I believe they are happy because we are winning but they’re not happy because they’re not playing.
“Every player that left the pitch I told them to go to the shower because it was cold. Some decided to go and some decided to stay.
“It’s an impossible job to keep every player happy and if you go to every club people who don’t play aren’t happy.”

A deal for all parties makes total sense.
Both players are unsettled, Spurs want their wages relieved from their books, Mourinho wants to trim his squad and Ancelotti is eyeing extra depth.
The latest update will only serve to add further fuel to the fire, though the chances of whether any player would end up at Goodison Park remains a distant prospect as it stands.
