The summer transfer window is just months away and Everton will no doubt be making their presence heard.

With Carlo Ancelotti ready for his second season in charge, the Italian will be hoping to further put his stamp on the squad.

There are areas of the squad that need attention more than others, with journalist Fabrizio Romano revealing all.

The transfer guru revealed yesterday that the Toffees would look to sign a centre-back in the summer…

One of the names that Everton seem to be looking at is Barcelona youngster Ronald Araújo.

The 22-year-old Uruguayan has impressed for the Spanish club this season with 20 appearances in La Liga.

Not only that but his market value has risen from £4.05m to £22.5m in just over a year.

However, as Romano states, Barcelona do not want to seel the youngster.

Whether this means that Everton’s options are completely shut off is unknown.

Barcelona have struggled financially over the last few years and the money they could receive for Araújo could really help.

If Everton were to table a healthy enough bid, there is no reason as to why Barcelona would turn it down.

There are plenty of options out there for the Toffees, with the view likely to be to find a long-term partner for Ben Godfrey.

Whatever happens in the summer, it is likely we will see a new defender join the Blues.
