Everton appears to be making a real statement in the transfer market this summer with their targets.

The club had been linked with a move for Lazio forward Joaquin Correa a few months back .

However, since then the rumours had died down with Everton in a stage of transition after Carlo Ancelotti’s departure.

Now, it appears as though the Toffees are back in the running, with them reportedly preparing an offer for Correa.

According to TuttoMercato, via Transfer Tavern, Everton are leading the race to sign the forward ahead of other clubs.

Despite this, no club has made a suitable offer according to TuttoMercato with Lazio seeking £30-35million.

Although the Italian outlet states no club has made a formidable offer, another Italian outlet claims differently.

IlMessaggero states that the Toffees are preparing to table a €25million offer for Correa.

This comes via the Liverpool Echo, which quotes that the offer also comes with bonuses on top of the €25million.

The forward currently has three years left on his contract with Lazio but the Italian club are in dire straights.

For them to be able to register their four new signings, they need to offload around €25-30million worth of talent.

This is so they can comply with Financial Fair Play regulations and Correa seems to be the player to do so.

Everton are in a great position to take advantage of Lazio’s financial issues right now with their interest.

Correa is a great player with fantastic versatility to play across the front line.

Last season saw the 26-year-old managed 11 goals with 6 assists in the Serie A – a fantastic tally.

He would no doubt operate well in Everton and Rafa Benitez’s system alongside the likes of Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

If the club manages to complete the signing then there is no reason they can’t push for Europe with an abundance of attacking talent.
