Everton central defender Yerry Mina has reportedly been ‘proposed’ as an option to Serie A giants AC Milan.

The Italian club are believed to be in the market for a centre-back to replace Alessio Romagnoli who is wanted by Real Madrid.

Mina is under contract at Goodison Park until 2023 (Transfermarkt) and is believed to be too expensive for the Rossoneri at present.

According to Calciomercato, as cited by Premier League For All on Twitter, the Columbian remains on the radar at the San Siro.

The report claims Milan have ‘started looking’ for a new option and the 38-cap Columbia ace is on the shortlist alongside Torino defender Gleison Bremer.

So far this season the 27-year-old has made six Premier League appearances and earned a 6.90 Sofascore rating in the process.

Ultimately regular injuries have prevented Mina from fully establishing himself as the first-choice centre-back for Everton.

Boasting all the attributes required to be an elite operator at the top level, Rafa Benitez will no doubt be desperate to retain the Columbian’s services.

That said, it is coming towards an important milestone in Mina’s contract and the club must decide whether to cash in on the £18million valued star or extend.
