- Everton have Beto, Branthwaite and Grealish sidelined for the West Ham.
- West Ham have a full squad available against Everton.
- Hammers at full strength for tomorrow’s game at London Stadium.
Everton travel to the London Stadium on Saturday to face a West Ham side fighting for Premier League survival. David Moyes’ men are chasing European qualification, sitting tenth but just one point behind sixth‑placed Chelsea.
David Moyes confirmed in his press conference today that he will have to do it without two key players. Jarrad Branthwaite has been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign, while in‑form striker Beto misses the trip due to a concussion.
Jack Grealish is a long-term absentee already.
The Toffees go into the game with five matches left, knowing well how crucial these games will be to keep their European hopes alive. But Moyes confirmed the bad news in his pre‑match press conference.
Branthwaite out for the season, but injury not a recurrence
Jarrad Branthwaite was stretchered off during the Merseyside derby after collapsing while challenging Cody Gakpo. Initial fears of a serious setback have been partially eased, though his season is over.
“Jarrad will be out for the season,” Moyes confirmed. “And then we have a long close season, so there should be plenty of time for him to get ready to start next season.”
The manager provided some relief by clarifying that the new injury is not related to the hamstring issue that required surgery and kept Branthwaite sidelined for the first half of the campaign. “He’s realised it’s not an injury to the area he had an operation on. It’s a different spot. It’s like a hamstring injury any player can get – you might be out for six weeks or maybe less. We hope he gets back [quickly].”
Beto out with a concussion, meanwhile, Michael Keane earns a new deal
Beto, who had scored five goals in his last six matches, will also miss the West Ham clash. “Beto has concussion and will miss this weekend’s game,” Moyes said. His absence leaves Everton light up front, with Thierno Barry also not convincing the manager to earn a spot in the starting line up.
On a more positive note, Michael Keane recently signed a one‑year contract extension. Moyes explained the decision: “The biggest thing is he deserves it. Sometimes, footballers, when you get to a later stage in your career, you have to prove to the managers, prove to the supporters, prove to a club that you’re good enough and worthy of another contract.
Moyes also addressed the futures of Idrissa Gana Gueye and Seamus Coleman, whose contracts expire this summer. “There will be more about them in the weeks to come,” he said.
West Ham at full strength against Everton
Meanwhile, West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo delivered a contrasting team news update. “All of the squad is available and good,” he said. The Hammers have named the same starting XI for their last two matches, including a 4‑0 win over Wolves and a goalless draw at Crystal Palace. Nuno Espirito Santo will hope to extend their back‑to‑back clean sheet run.
Everton, without Branthwaite and Beto, face a tough test in east London against a cornered West Ham. But with European football still within reach, David Moyes will demand his squad rise to the challenge. The London Stadium awaits another interesting battle.
