Judging by the reports coming out over the past few days, Everton have well and truly given up on Europe. Phil Jagielka, Wayne Rooney and Leighton Baines have all stayed at home and younger players have been called up to the squad, such as Morgan Feeney. It’s a shame, as while we’re very unlikely to […]
“Hope in reality is the worst of all evils, because it prolongs the torment of man”. Most of us saw sings of positivity against Chelsea with a youthful core producing a second half that contained the best football we’d played all season. Come Leicester, and Baningime is dropped, McCarthy is not in the squad, Rooney […]
An air of optimism may finally be back around us Evertonians after what has been a long period of no hope, just a wish that things will eventually change. Well, change they have and David Unsworth takes his Everton side down to Leicester, full of fresh faces and returning players. We’re looking for three points […]
An Everton that fans can finally relate to was on show against Chelsea. A passionate manager with a solid plan, only beaten by a world-class goal. For two-thirds of the game, Everton were by far the better side, with chance after chance being denied. The returning players looked motivated, none more so than James McCarthy […]
A year and a half on from when David Unsworth took charge of Everton, he finds himself this time taking the Blues to Chelsea, as he looks to stake his claim on the job full-time. It’s come from a cathartic Sunday afternoon, as Ronald Koeman was finally removed from the club by an apparently exasperated […]
An Oumar Niasse goal would’ve been a poetically beautiful way to round out Ronald Koeman’s Everton reign, but Everton even failed at that. The eerie silence, interrupted by choruses of ‘Koeman Out’ after the final whistle said much more than I ever could about today’s proceedings. It was a cathartic silence in a way, almost […]
If you want my official prediction, Ronald Koeman will be sacked by the end of next Thursday. We’ll lose to Arsenal and then to Chelsea. I don’t think the board will be able to stand by much longer, as Goodison, when we inevitably go one-nil down, will be as toxic as anything during the Martínez premiership. […]
Football is a results business. It is nothing more than that. You can have all of the passion on the pitch, all of the graft and all of the flair, but if you’re losing games, you’re failing. Everton, maestros of failure in their own right, have begun to fail at the one thing they had […]
Tick. Tock. Craig Shakespeare is gone, Frank de Boer is gone, Slaven Bilic is on the way and Father Time is on the road to Ronald Koeman. The teams in the current relegation scrap are systematically getting rid of their managers, and while it is never our way to be sheep rather than the shepherd, […]
It’s another shocking performance – well, actually, it’s far from shocking. We were the second best team from the 20th minute onwards and deserved nothing from the game. The usual suspects were back it again, being as gut-wrenching to watch as they have been this season as a whole. Gylfi Sigurdsson was exceptionally useless, Idrissa […]
If you want a quick little preview: Brighton are going to win. Carry on with your day, gents. We’re heading into another game filled with negativity as we come up against a side with a semblance of defensive organisation and a stable, productive midfield. Add that to the fact that Brighton have general footballing ability […]
This is going to be a fun one isn’t it? Koeman’s gone, there’s no coming back from that, No matter what he does. It’s now just up to Moshiri on when. Give us Ancelotti, Tuchel, Silva, Unsworth, Moyes, Martínez, Mike Bassett, or I’ll give it a go. Point is, we need rid of an amateur […]
