Everton have agreed a £5million fee with River Plate for defender Ramiro Funes Mori, the Daily Mail reports.
Antolin Alcaraz and Sylvain Distin were let go by Roberto Martinez this summer and after months of searching for an adequate replacement, the Catalan seems to have found his man.
The 24-year-old River Plate star has been rumoured with a move to Goodison for the last fortnight, and when posed the question about moving to Everton, he refused to comment.
But it is believed that Everton have agreed a deal with the Argentinian giants and will look to push on with personal terms and a medical.
The deal for Mori does NOT change Everton’s stance on John Stones, whose future has come under much speculation this summer.
The Argentina international, who is surprisingly a free-kick specialist, played a huge role in River Plate’s recent Copa Libertadores victory over Tigres.
Villarreal have also courted the 24-year-old, but have yet to agree a fee.
