Everton appoint Sam Allardyce as manager

Everton have  announced that they are close to appointing Sam Allardyce as the club’s new manager.

The 63-year-old left Crystal Palace at the end of last season and it looked like he was about to retire but he’s since changed his mind and is now back in management.

Everton sacked Ronald Koeman over a month ago and numerous men have been linked with the vacant job at Goodison Park since then, but it is Allardyce who the club have appointed.

The Blues have had a terrible season both domestically and in Europe and Allardyce will be the man tasked with turning around their fortunes.

His appointment has been met with mixed reactions from the fan base but all that matters now for Allardyce and Everton is that the side start picking up points on the field otherwise their poor start will escalate into something much worse.
