Everton Could Cash in on Cenk Tosun after Besiktas Open Door to Signing

Moise Kean may not be the only on-loan Everton striker making his loan move a permanent one.

29-year-old Cenk Tosun, on loan at his former club Besiktas, could make his stay in Istanbul a permanent one with the Black Eagles showing an interest in signing Tosun outright.

In a surprise windfall for Everton, the £27 million 2018 signing could return to the club that cashed in on him just three years ago.

According to Milliyet, Tosun’s instant impact following a debut brace as a substitute produced ‘smiles’ between senior Besiktas executives who feel justified in their transfer decisions.

In a transfer window in which Mario Mandzukic and Brazilian player Hulk were linked, choosing Tosun over those former free agents appeared to have presented some risk to the Besiktas board.

Conversely, there seems to now be a prevailing belief that Tosun’s arrival has brought with it the same prolific form that secured his Everton move in the first place.

Besiktas President Ahmet Nur Çebi is ‘looking for ways to bring Cenk Tosun to the team in the coming period’ as a result, indicating a permanent deal is on the cards.

Tosun’s name will be ‘at the top of the list’ during the summer transfer period and could be a way out for Everton who will be keen to offload his £60,000-a-week wages off their books.

If Tosun’s form continues, this has the makings of a deal in which both the buying and selling clubs will be delighted with the outcome.

Tosun was one of a number of players that Everton were keen to offload in January, and a permanent deal would likely suit the long-term objectives of Everton directors.
