- Everton have an interest in Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu.
- Ghanaian featured heavily in a season that saw his side drop to League One.
- He is attracting interest from clubs in the Premier League and Bundesliga.
Abdul Fatawu is aiming to force a move away from Leicester City as the Midlands outfit dropped to the third tier of English football.
The Ghanaian was a key man in their Championship title-winning campaign in 2023-24, but an anterior cruciate ligament injury in the following season proved to be a huge blow in the Foxes’ relegation battle.
Although it was an ultimately disappointing season at the King Power Stadium, Fatawu was one of the few attackers who showed his quality, and he will want to showcase his talents in the top flight once again.
Everton is one club that has an interest in the winger, but more clubs are turning their eyes to the 22-year-old.
Competition for Abdul Fatawu is heating up
Fatawu will likely head to the FIFA World Cup with Ghana, and decisions on his future could come after appearing for his nation.
But on top of Everton’s interest, Fulham, Aston Villa, Bournemouth, RB Leipzig, and Galatasaray are all potential other destinations for the winger, according to Ekrem Konur.
The Ghanaian only featured in 11 matches in his sole Premier League season before being ruled out with his ACL injury.
A chance to return to the top flight is one that he will look for, but attention from sides outside of the Premier League also has its merits.
An impressive World Cup would no doubt attract the interest of more clubs, which is why any decisions on his future may come after the tournament’s conclusion.
Abdul Fatawu could be an affordable addition
If Everton want to get Fatawu for a good price, they would have to decide on the winger now, before he heads to compete in the World Cup.
An impressive tournament with Ghana could heavily inflate the winger’s price, and he then becomes too expensive for a player who would be recruited to pad out Everton’s depth.
Lots of additions will be needed at Hill Dickinson Stadium in the summer, and if the Toffees find a player for a bargain price, they must act swiftly.
Leicester’s drop to League One means they will be selling players below their market value, and Fatawu fits firmly in this category.
No official bid has been made yet, but clubs are now starting to truly weigh up their options.
