Everton fans dismiss Can speculation following Ancelotti comments

Several Everton fans have reacted to Carlo Ancelotti’s recent comments about transfer targets by dismissing speculation linking the club with Emre Can.

La Gazzetta dello Sport recently reported that Ancelotti was insistent on signing the Juventus midfielder this month, while Calciomercato claimed that Everton had lined up a £30million offer to bring the German to Goodison Park.

However, the Italian coach spoke out about reported transfer targets during his pre-Newcastle press conference, declaring that “all the names in the newspapers are wrong”, and that “all the names on Sky are wrong”.

Ancelotti’s comments came before Calciomercato’s report, with the Italian outlet still claiming that Everton are considering a big money move for the former Liverpool star this month.

While it isn’t yet clear whether Ancelotti is simply keeping his cards close to his chest, or whether he is being open and frank with the Everton supporters, a number of them reacted to the Emre Can links on social media, revealing that they believe the manager’s words.
