- Everton are set for their best finish in the Premier League since 2021..
- Toffees linked with several names ahead of the summer transfer window.
- Mamadou Diakhon is one player rumoured to be on the Blues’ shortlist.
Everton have already been linked with exciting talent ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Blues are in the hunt for European qualification, and with this in mind, want to boost the quality and depth within their squad.
Midway through the season, the Toffees were exposed for their lack of depth due to multiple suspensions, absences, and injuries, so they will want to ensure they are not caught in this situation again.
In preparation for an expected busy summer for David Moyes’ men, a prospect in the Belgian Pro League has been placed on Everton’s transfer shortlist.
Mamadou Diakhon is on Everton’s shortlist
French winger Mamadou Diakhon is reportedly admired by Moyes and his staff, according to Ekrem Konur.
The 20-year-old began his career with Stade de Reims in France, but made the switch to Club Brugge at the start of this season.
| Appearances – All Competitions | Goals | Assists |
| 36 | 3 | 11 |
Diakhon has become a key player in his debut season with the Belgian outfit and has appeared in 11 of their Champions League encounters.
Four of his goal contributions from this season have come from matches in Europe’s premier competition.
The winger has played for France at youth level, but in March 2026, he was called up to the Senegal national team and made his debut in a 3-1 victory over The Gambia.
His contract with Club Brugge runs out in 2029, meaning any interested clubs will likely have to pay a substantial fee to purchase the player.
An Everton transfer trend is emerging
As the window approaches day by day, a trend appears to be emerging in Everton’s transfer strategy.
Diakhon is among a list of wingers that have been linked with a move to Hill Dickinson Stadium.
This suggests numerous things, including what Moyes is prioritising, as well as the future of wingers in his current squad.
The Blues will likely invest in a winger this summer, yet they already have five traditional wingers in their team, meaning room might have to be made.
Dwight McNeil is one man who could exit ahead of the new season, after his move to Crystal Palace fell through in the winter, but Everton’s boss could be planning ahead with some of Europe’s biggest names likely to have Iliman Ndiaye on their shortlist.
Should Everton purchase a winger, one might leave Merseyside, but who that will be remains to be seen.
