Everton face growing Branthwaite battle as Chelsea join 2027 transfer race

Branthwaite

Everton could face a growing battle to keep Jarrad Branthwaite in 2027, with Chelsea the latest major club reported to be considering a move for the defender.

The 24-year-old has already attracted interest from Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City, while Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid have also been credited with monitoring his situation.

Chelsea join growing Branthwaite interest

Football Insider reports Chelsea are keen admirers of Branthwaite as they consider strengthening their defence next year, although Everton have no intention of making him available.

United’s interest is long-standing and fresh contact with the player’s camp was reported in September. Liverpool have since been linked with a potential 2027 move, while City are also understood to have kept tabs on the England international.

Interest has spread beyond the Premier League, with Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid both reported to have checked on Branthwaite this season. There is no suggestion at this stage that any of those clubs have submitted an offer.

Everton remain in a strong position after Branthwaite signed a new long-term contract last year, tying him to the club until 2030. Reports have put his valuation at around £80m, with David Moyes continuing to regard the centre-back as a key part of his plans.

That should ensure Everton can set the terms of any future conversation over his future. But with Chelsea now joining a list of admirers which already includes some of the biggest clubs in England and Spain, keeping Branthwaite could become one of Everton’s biggest challenges in 2027.
