Everton youngster Jonathan Nsangou reaches 10 goals after another hat-trick

Everton youngster Jonathan Nsangou reached double figures for the season yesterday after scoring another hat-trick at Finch Farm to fire the U18s to a thrilling 6–3 victory against Bournemouth in the Premier League U18 Cup.

He has now scored 10 goals this season, with his latest treble adding to a very strong start to the campaign that has seen him train with the first team.

Nsangou reaches double figures for Everton

The Academy celebrated Nsangou’s latest performance on its official X account, posting: “Another hat-trick for Jonathan Nsangou takes him to 10 goals already this season.”

It is a healthy return for a young forward still developing in Everton’s academy, and another eye-catching performance will only increase the attention around him if he continues this hot streak.

David Moyes had several young players around the first-team set-up during the international break, although, of course, there is a considerable jump between academy football and earning some Premier League minutes.

There is no reason for Everton to fast-track Nsangou. At this stage, regular football and goals are more important, and reaching 10 this early in the campaign gives him something to build on. His form also provides another name for Everton supporters to follow below first-team level as the season develops.

For the senior side, attention today is on the Premier League trip to Hull City, where Moyes’ team will look to continue their unbeaten start to the season.
