Everton leading race to complete bargain £6m deal for goalscoring sensation

Everton are expected to be active in the January transfer window to bolster their squad under David Moyes.

It’s safe to say the summer transfer window didn’t go as planned as the Toffees are desperately short-staffed across several important areas of the squad.

In terms of their striking options, Thierno Barry is the only senior fit option after a late move for USA international Folarin Balogun failed.

And now, if reports are to be believed, Everton are now plotting a move for his compatriot.

TEAMtalk report that the Toffees are leading the race to sign Kelvin Yeboah, who is the great Tony Yeboah’s nephew.

The 26-year-old striker has found his feet in the MLS after a bunch of stints across Europe with varying degrees of success.

Yeboah already has 16 MLS goals to his name for Minnesota United this season and is valued at around £6m, making him a punt worth taking at the very least.

Everton’s ownership issues are well documented, so they may be stringent with the purse strings, but considering Yeboah’s market value, we can see why they are interested.

The report also mentions interest from Sporting CP, while unnamed Premier League and European clubs are also believed to be in the running.
