Everton join race for Frosinone winger Giorgi Kvernadze – report

Everton have reportedly joined the race for Frosinone winger Giorgi Kvernadze following the Georgian’s impressive start to the Serie A season.

The 23-year-old is attracting interest from several European clubs, with Crystal Palace, Roma and Monaco also credited with an interest as attention begins to turn towards the January transfer window.

Everton linked with Kvernadze

Italian transfer journalist Nicolò Schira reports that Everton are among four clubs to have already made an approach over Kvernadze. Roma, Crystal Palace and Monaco are also named, although there is currently no suggestion that Everton have submitted an offer or opened negotiations with Frosinone.

Kvernadze has made an impressive transition to Serie A following Frosinone’s promotion last season. The Georgia international has scored three goals and provided three assists in nine league appearances this term, while also finding the net twice in the Coppa Italia.

He predominantly operates from the left and has inevitably drawn comparisons in Italy with compatriot Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Kvernadze himself has previously acknowledged those comparisons, although his performances for Frosinone are now attracting attention in their own right.

His contract runs until the summer of 2028, leaving Frosinone in a strong position should that interest develop into firm offers. The link is worth noting given Everton’s work on their attacking options during the summer. Jack Grealish, Brennan Johnson and Tyrique George arrived, but a deadline-day attempt to bring in Monaco striker Folarin Balogun did not result in a deal.

Kvernadze would represent a different type of addition and, at this stage, Everton’s reported interest appears to be exploratory rather than an indication that a transfer is close. With Roma, Monaco and Crystal Palace also watching developments, however, the Georgian could be a name that returns as the January window approaches.
