- The transfer window is now open for Premier League teams.
- Everton are starting to make approaches for their targets.
- Toffees have been linked with a variety of Championship talent.
The summer transfer window is now open for Premier League sides, and Everton are expecting it to be a busy one.
Failure to qualify for Europe has left the Toffees in a fairly tricky situation in this window, with financial rules preventing them from spending big, David Moyes will have to sell some men from his current crop.
But the Scotsman is still steaming ahead with his transfer plans, and he has been showing an interest in quality from the Championship.
The Blues are making a big push for Hayden Hackney, and they are also showing an interest in this young striker from the second tier.
Everton are in a strong position to sign Jay Stansfield
Everton’s striking options last season consisted of Beto and Thierno Barry, with both posting respectable stats of nine and eight league goals, respectively.
However, both still faced criticism for their performances, and Moyes could seek to boost his options at the top of the pitch.
In an effort to do so, the Toffees are in a strong position to sign Birmingham City striker Jay Stansfield, according to Ekrem Konur.
He is expected to fetch a fee between €25-35 million for the Midlands-based outfit.
Stansfield has featured for City since arriving on loan there in the 2023-24 campaign, and was a key talisman in their promotion back to the Championship in the following season.
In his most recent campaign, he bagged 10 league goals as his side went on to record a top-half finish.

Jay Stansfield is not needed at Hill Dickinson Stadium
While Stansfield is still relatively young and has the potential to become a Premier League striker, it would not be wise for Everton to make a push for the 23-year-old.
It is clear that the Blues do require improvements in their attack, but considering they are currently missing full backs who offer a potent threat in the final third, and spent a chunk of last season without influential players such as Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye. Beto and Barry still managed to achieve an impressive return on goals.
If Moyes wants to strengthen his attacking options, then one of Beto or Barry will need to leave, yet it would be a humungous risk to replace either with a forward that has minimal Premier League experience.
