Everton and Newcastle United both want Norwich City right-back Kellen Fisher, but the Championship club are refusing to sell, according to TEAMtalk’s Graeme Bailey.
The 22-year-old has been on Everton’s radar since last summer, when the Toffees looked at a deal before eventually signing Adam Aznou instead. A move for Fisher was also considered in January.
Interest has persisted regardless, with Everton viewing him as a long-term option at right-back following Seamus Coleman’s departure and with Nathan Patterson’s own future at the club in doubt.
Norwich’s position marks a shift in tone. Fisher has previously been described as attracting interest from as many as seven Premier League clubs, with Norwich seen as holding the leverage of a contract running to 2028. That leverage now appears to be hardening into an outright refusal to do business, at least for the moment.
Fisher’s rise has been rapid. Signed from Bromley for around £100,000 in 2023, he has established himself at Carrow Road as a genuine athletic and technical upgrade at both full-back positions, capped by England at Under-21 level.
Norwich’s resistance and the words of Philippe Clement suggest they see him as a player to build around rather than cash in on, even with Premier League suitors circling, including Hull, who reportedly offered a derisory £5m.
For Everton, the calculus is straightforward: two seasons of interest, a growing need at right-back, and a selling club now digging in. Whether that changes as the window progresses, particularly if Patterson’s exit gathers pace, remains to be seen.
