Everton ‘seem willing’ to sign Emre Can on loan this month, but it could take until the end of the transfer window to land the midfielder, according to Tuttosport.
Everton’s alleged pursuit of the Juventus midfielder has been well covered in the last few days, with Gazzetta dello Sport first detailing Everton’s interest last week.
The Toffees were said to be keen on signing Can on a permanent basis, with Calciomercato later reporting that the club were considering a £30million offer to land the 26-year old.

However, Carlo Ancelotti spoke out about reported transfer targets in the media during his pre-Newcastle press conference, declaring that “all the names in the newspapers are wrong”, and that “all the names on Sky are wrong”.
Despite this, the Italian media machine keeps on churning out information, and the latest report from Tuttosport claim that Borussia Dortmund have entered the race, while Manchester United and Everton are both eyeing a loan deal.
The report claims that it could take until the ‘final days’ of the transfer market before they can agree a deal, but both United and the Blues ‘seem willing’ to secure a loan deal for the Germany international.

For what my opinion is worth, I would think that a loan deal for Emre Can works better than a sizeable permanent offer. Can hasn’t had the opportunity to play much football this season, playing just eight times in Serie A (WhoScored), but he could still bring plenty of quality to a squad that is desperate for reinforcement in his position.
Should it not work out as the club hope, then they could easily let him go back to Juventus in the summer without a care. It would be a move that would certainly be better financially for Everton, and it would benefit Can as he would be able to get minutes under his belt ahead of the upcoming European Championships.
Do I think it will happen? No, not really, and that is partly down to Ancelotti’s comments. If he is claiming so matter of fact that names in the media are false, then I’d be inclined to believe him, at least for now. Still, we’ll have to wait and see whether this story picks up in the next few days.
