It’s this fixture that always makes me remember my favourite ever Goodison night (I haven’t got that much to look back on, yet) which was the 2-0 win over Chelsea in the 15/16 FA Cup.
Lukaku netted twice and his first was one of the best goals I’ve ever seen, never mind just Everton goals but of any goal. He dominated his old team that night and it was probably one of his best matches for the Blues.
The proper Blues, that is.
And now we come up against Chelsea where both teams have different managers, and different squads entirely. We’re looking to remain unbeaten under Large Samuel and Chelsea look to solidify their position in the top four of the league. Win this and we can properly push on and challenge for the European places again, which is hilarious to think about given the circumstances the last time we played Chelsea just a few months ago, when we’d already been relegated.
However, both teams are in a good vein of form and it should be a decent game.
