Everton v Lincoln City: Alex’s XI

In Everton v Lincoln Part II, not much has changed from the first instalment. Marco Silva is still looking to for his players to prove themselves after an average start to the season, and there are players that will make their full debuts on the night.

Lincoln City have since been promoted, and I am genuinely thrilled for their fans as they were the best I’ve seen at Goodison in quite some time. They seem to be an excellent club and I wish them nothing but the best, just not on Wednesday.

Everton Twitter hit somewhat of a boiling point after Friday’s result with incredible frustration aimed at Dom and Theo (of which I expect to be on the receiving end of some too, after my selections) and it was not all unjust. The pair may have sealed their immediate fate with most of the fanbase due to incredible misses that would have won us the game.

But moving on, this midweek affair, as it was last season, represents the chance to start the season proper.

matchday.
