Funes Mori: “We can’t rush”

Ramiro Funes Mori says Everton must be patient against Bournemouth if they are to continue their impressive form.

After seeing his side bag eleven goals in their last three games, the Argentine is hoping the Blues can continue their free-scoring run when they visit the Cherries on Saturday.

The centre-back, who signed from River Plate for £9.5million in the summer, picked up the Player of the Month award at the Hilton Hotel in Liverpool on Wednesday afternoon.

“Winning the Player of the Month award is a great achievement,” he told evertontv.

“Obviously, it’s down to the team getting good results but I’m happy to win it.

“We have a good balance in the team. As a defence, we like to give the midfielders and the forwards good confidence because we know they can score goals.

“We know Bournemouth will be a tough game but hopefully we can win it. We can’t rush when it comes to scoring goals, we have to be patient and then take our opportunities when they arrive,” he added.

The 24-year-old has adapted to life in the Premier League with consummate ease and has already racked up nine appearances in both the League and the Capital One Cup due to the absence of captain Phil Jagielka.

During the month of October, Mori helped Everton to a draw against Liverpool in the first Merseyside Derby of the season at Goodison Park and helped the Toffeemen through to the quarter-finals of the League Cup following a shoot-out win over Norwich City.
