Former Scotland international Paul Dickov has recommended a return to Glasgow for Patterson. Speaking to the Daily Record via LiveFootballTickets, Dickov said: “Nathan Patterson is at the age where you have to be playing football. He’s had some unfortunate injuries, but now that he’s back, he needs game time. There’s no doubting his ability, he’s a top young defender, and a move back to Rangers would be good for him.
“If he’s available, I’m sure there’ll be plenty of clubs interested in him. But I think a move back to Rangers, where he’s comfortable and in surroundings he knows, could reignite his career.”
Rangers captain James Tavernier is set to leave when the season ends, opening up a spot at right‑back. A return to Ibrox would offer Patterson regular first‑team football, something Everton cannot guarantee.

Since then, little has changed. Patterson remains on the sidelines. With European football difficult but still a possibility for Everton, Moyes may want squad depth, but Patterson seems unlikely to sign a new deal. A summer departure makes sense for all parties.
