Everton revive interest in Brooke Norton-Cuffy as £17m transfer emerges

Everton have revived their interest in Genoa right-back Brooke Norton-Cuffy, according to a fresh report.

The 22-year-old is said to have re-emerged as an option for David Moyes this summer, with TEAMtalk’s Harry Watkinson reporting that the Serie A side would be prepared to sell for around £17m.

Watkinson adds that Norton-Cuffy is open to returning to the Premier League, where he could reunite with several of his former England Under-21 team-mates should Everton complete other deals this summer.

The right-back has previously shared an international dressing room with Southampton winger Tyler Dibling, Chelsea youngster George and Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney – all players who have been linked with moves to Merseyside in recent months.

Everton are understood to be in the market for a new right-back following Ashley Young’s departure, with Moyes keen to strengthen a position where Jake O’Brien was regularly used out of position during the closing stages of last season.

Norton-Cuffy joined Genoa from Arsenal last summer after a series of impressive loan spells in the EFL. The defender went on to establish himself in Serie A and has attracted interest from a number of clubs ahead of the new campaign.

Whether Everton decide to formalise that interest remains to be seen, but the England Under-21 international has once again emerged as a player under consideration as Moyes continues to reshape his squad.
