Everton fans reminisce on five-year anniversary of Europa League victory

Several Everton fans have reflected on the five-year anniversary of the club’s 4-1 away win over BSC Young Boys in the Europa League Round of 32.

Under Roberto Martinez in the 2014/15 season, Everton had looked to have been going places in Europe, having comfortably won their group.

The Toffees beat Wolfsburg, who finished that season in second place in the Bundesliga, both home and away, while also going unbeaten against Lille.

Travelling to Switzerland to face Young Boys in the Round of 32, Everton got off to a bad start, going 1-0 down to a goal from Guillaume Hoarau.

However, following a Seamus Coleman stabbed effort and a Romelu Lukaku hat-trick, the Toffees took a big advantage into the second leg, which they also won.

On the five-year anniversary of the game, several Everton fans took to social media to reflect on their European day out.
