Everton not planning early Jack Grealish loan exit, report claims

Jack Grealish Everton

Everton reportedly have no plans to cut short Jack Grealish’s loan from Manchester City despite frustration over his recent disciplinary breach.

The 31-year-old has missed Everton’s last three matches, including both victories over Newcastle United, but David Moyes is understood to be willing to give him another opportunity.

According to TEAMtalk, the club remain unhappy with Grealish after he missed part of a training session before last week’s Carabao Cup tie.

Grealish could return against Coventry

The report claims Everton would prefer to keep Grealish for the remainder of the season rather than send him back to Manchester City in January. Moyes is also said to be open to bringing the winger back into his squad for Friday’s Premier League meeting with Coventry City, provided he meets the standards expected of him.

However, no decision on his involvement has been confirmed. Grealish missed the defeat at Arsenal through illness before being left out of the cup victory over Newcastle following the disciplinary issue. Everton subsequently cited fitness concerns when he was absent from Monday’s league win at St James’ Park.

Speaking after that match, Moyes declined to give a return date but confirmed there was a way back for the former England international. “Of course there is,” he said when asked whether Grealish could return to his plans.

Grealish is in his second successive season-long loan at Everton, having returned to the club in the summer.

With Moyes’ side seventh in the Premier League and through to the Carabao Cup quarter-finals, the manager will hope the situation can be resolved without further disruption.
