Everton: Lampard can form deadly duo by signing Mykhaylo Mudryk

Everton may not have won any of their six opening Premier League games of the new campaign, but Frank Lampard’s side have shown their attacking ability.

For example, only four other clubs in the division currently have a higher percentage of shots on target than the Toffees (36.4%).

One figure in Lampard’s squad that has been an important attacking figure for the Merseyside club this season is Anthony Gordon.

As one of the six outfield players to have started every league game so far, the 21-year-old winger has more shots (18), shots on target (13), shot-creating actions (20) and carries into the 18-yard box (12) than any other Everton player.

While the summer transfer window may have closed, it seems as though the Toffees may have their eye on adding another highly rated young winger to their squad in the near future, one that we feel could give Lampard the opportunity to form a potentially deadly duo alongside Gordon.

According to a report from Calciomercato web last week, Everton have their eye on making a potential January transfer move for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk.

In 30 senior appearances for the Ukraine club, the 21-year-old has scored three goals and delivered 12 assists in the process.

His latest appearance for Shakhtar saw the attacker score a goal and provide two assists in the club’s 4-1 win over RB Leipzig in the Champions League, showing how deadly he can be in terms of scoring and setting up goals.

Hailed as a “top talent” by Fabrizio Romano, who also described the winger as having lots of “quality”, Mudryk certainly has the attacking credentials to be a top signing for Everton and create a scary partnership with Gordon in the wide areas of the pitch.

With a reported price tag of £30m, this is surely an investment that the Merseyside club should look to complete in January if the opportunity arises, as Mudryk could well be the answer to seeing Lampard’s side become more clinical in front of goal.
