Everton reach agreement with Man City over Mangala loan

Everton have reached an agreement with league leaders Manchester City over the loan signing of Eliaquim Mangala.

The central defender has featured in patches for City this season, playing 15 time, but chances of him playing more now have decreased due to City’s transfer activity.

City recently announced a club record signing of Aymeric Laporte, will join John Stones, Vincent Kompany and Nicolas Otamendi in their stable of defenders, meaning Mangala would have been fifth choice at best.

A loan deal to Everton could be a good move for all parties. Everton get themselves another experienced centre-back, the player should get more regular game time as he makes a late push to be included in France’s World Cup squad, and Man City get some of his wages off the books.
