Everton could go head-to-head with Fulham for one of Germany’s brightest breakout striking stars as Eurosport claims the Toffees are keen on VfB Stuttgart hitman Silas Wamangituka.

Netting 11 goals in 22 top-flight matches for the newly-promoted side, Wamangituka has helped his relegation-tipped team to be comfortably mid-table as the spectre of the drop to the 2. Bundesliga looks to be a distant echo.

The DR Congo international can play up front or as a winger, where he has been typically deployed for Stuttgart this season.

According to the Eurosport report, both Everton and Fulham have dispatched scouts to eye up the free-scoring ace ahead of a potential summer move.

The report compares his promise to that of Arsenals’ Nicolas Pepe, and the 21-year-old appears to have had no problems adjusting to the demands of top-level football in Germany.

Producing incredibly efficient numbers all at just 21 years of age, the forward is an ideal promising utility attacker that could provide cover to Ancelotti’s side in a vast array of positions.

However, given his gold-standard record at Stuttgart and with league survival looking more a case of ‘when’ and not ‘if’, Stuttgart would surely struggle to be tempted to part with such a key player.

Compounded with the fact that the player is under contract until 2024, any deal would see Stuttgart in the driving seat.

If Everton do indeed materialise their interest in the Stuttgart starlet, expect a transfer to come at a notable premium as the young asset is leveraged for every penny.
