Everton captain James Tarkowski believes the club remain one of the biggest in the country as they look to build under David Moyes.
He points to Everton’s new stadium, the experience of Moyes and the make-up of the squad. His comments come with Everton unbeaten in the Premier League but facing uncertainty over the club’s ownership.
Tarkowski talks up Everton
“I think Everton are one of the biggest clubs in the country,” Tarkowski told the Liverpool Echo.
“We’ve got an exceptional stadium, a manager who is one of the most experienced managers in the game and a quality side with a lot of young and experienced players too.”
Everton have taken 10 points from their opening six Premier League games and are yet to lose. They moved into the Hill Dickinson Stadium this season after leaving Goodison Park.
The Friedkin Group announced last week that it was exploring new investment options, including a potential sale of its controlling interest. Moyes has since outlined what he wants from any potential new owners after admitting he was surprised by the announcement.
Tarkowski is in his second season as Everton captain, while Moyes returned for his second spell as manager in January 2025. Everton are back in Premier League action against Chelsea at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday.
