Marco Silva has encouraged Ademola Lookman to continue to force himself into the club’s first-team plans.
The former Charlton Athletic starlet has turned in some impressive cameo appearances in the last few weeks, including a longer half hour showing against Manchester United.
And Silva has praised the England Under-21s international, while also challenging him to continue working hard.
Talking ahead of Everton’s clash against Brighton on Saturday, as reported on the club’s official website, Silva said:
First, I want to see him playing like he trains, doing in the match what he is doing in training sessions.
And what he can do in the training sessions is really, really good; the quality he shows in some moments.
I want him to transfer that to the matches. I understand it is not always easy in 10 or 15 minutes but he can do it – like he did against Crystal Palace.
I want to see him keep enjoying it, doing well and playing with good intensity and a good attitude.
He has great quality and he could be better and better and better in the future.
When he can work hard and his mind is clear like it is now – and for the past month he has been working and enjoying it and coming in with a smile on his face to work in a good environment – he can do better and better every day.
