Silva talks about future Vlasic Merseyside return

Everton manager Marco Silva has revealed that loan star Nikola Vlašić could return to the club in the summer, after impressing in Russia.

The 21-year old Croatian midfielder signed for CSKA Moscow on a season-long loan in the summer, after holding conversations with new boss Silva.

After former boss Ronald Koeman was sacked early last season, Vlašić found game time hard to come by and in a bid to up his minutes on the field, he left to sign for the Russian Premier League side.

While Vlašić has been impressing in Russian domestic competition, he drew most attention on Tuesday after scoring the only goal in CSKA’s 1-0 win over Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Speaking in his pre-Leicester press conference, Silva addressed talk of a return for the Croatia international, saying:

It’s possible. Me and him, when we spoke, he needed time to play.

He could return to our club. He is playing well. We will follow him and take that decision.

He is playing well and that is important because he is our player.
