Virals: Demarai Gray finally gets his knee slide right after Everton goal

Everton took to social media to poke fun at Demarai Gray following his celebration against Burnley.

The home-grown winger notched up his third goal in as many games for the Blues and is swiftly proving to be a shrewd acquisition following his £1.6 million move from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.

The versatile winger, who is deployed as an attacking midfielder by Rafa Benitez, caught headlines for his goal celebration in Everton’s 2-2 draw away against Leeds United.

Having scored for the Blues, Gray ecstatically wheeled away in celebration and attempted a knee slide, only for his knees to collide with the surface at an awkward angle. That caused Gray to jolt as he front-flipped forward and crashed out flat on the pitch.

As a result, the club shared footage on social media of his celebration fail and was ridiculed by teammates to add insult to injury.

Gray didn’t care after the incident – he simply continued to run away with a beaming smile on his face after his scoring heroics.

As shared on social media in a GIF from the club, Gray has had the chance to redeem himself after adding a third goal for the Blues in Everton’s Monday night win over Burnley.

Having come back from a goal down to be 2-1 up, Abdoulaye Doucoure added his second assist of the night when he played a through-ball to Gray, who coolly fired past Nick Pope to complete the scoring for Everton.

A moment of redemption for Gray after enduring the blushes after his league goal.

At any rate, Gray will be keen to hone his knee-sliding techniques with no signs of the goals slowing down!
