Former Everton marksman Romelu Lukaku is back gracing the Premier League following his return to UEFA Champions League holders Chelsea.
The ex-Blues hitman re-joined his former club in London for a club-record fee off the back of a prolific Euro 2020 run for Belgium.
The club has taken to social media in recent days to showcase a series of announcement footage, photos and accompanying interview material to generate a further buzz around the signing – but one commentator has harked back to his Everton days.
Football analyst and YouTuber Nouman (@nomifooty) took to Twitter to offer his predictions for Lukaku’s 2021/22 campaign.
He highlighted a Chelsea-released photo in which the 28-year-old’s trimmed and toned physique was on full display before displaying it side by side with a photo of Lukaku in his prime years as an Evertonian.

The Belgian target man notched up an impressive tally of 87 Goals & 29 assists with the Toffees, with Nouman commenting that ‘we all know what Lukaku did, the last time he was in this kinda (sic) physique’.
He then referenced Lukaku’s formidable tally in an Everton shirt before declaring ‘the Premier League ain’t ready’ with an accompanying ‘fire’ emoji, highlighting his belief that Lukaku will light up the highest echelon of English football.

For all but two games this season, fans will surely take a modicum of solace if Lukaku performs well.
His reported price tag, just shy of £100 million at £97 million, is no coincidence given his physical robustness and prolific striking acumen.
Truly a world-class striker and with a price tag to suit, Everton fans can be proud of the platform they gave to Lukaku to shine.
