Phil Neville could raid Everton for Jonas Lossl if he takes Inter Miami job

Former Everton defender Phil Neville could be set to raid the Goodison Park club for players amid a likely move to take over as manager of MLS outfit Inter Miami.

The franchise, partially owned by David Beckham, is looking for a new coach having recently sacked their inaugural manager Diego Alonso after his side finished 10th in the 14-team Eastern Conference.

The Florida-based outfit won just seven of their 23 matches, losing 13 times in the process, with owner Beckham reportedly keen to rejuvenate the club.

Neville was confirmed to be leaving his role as head coach of the England women’s national team and now looks set for a fresh managerial foray into Major League Soccer.

The Miami Herald has reported that the 43-year-old will look at unwanted Everton players to inject fresh blood into the Inter squad – an approach which could save the Toffees millions in wage costs and take some unwanted players away from Carlo Ancelotti.

Third-choice goalkeeper Jonas Lossl would reportedly top Miami’s wish list under Neville, with the Dane struggling to achieve any game-time at Goodison Park following the arrival of Robin Olsen.

Lossl could be the first of several Everton outcasts to be offered a new lease of life by Neville in Florida as the former England defender may seek to utilise his connections with the Toffees.

It would potentially rejuvenate the careers of the players in question, boost Miami’s squad and clear substantial wages from Everton’s books.

In turn, it could help to offset financial losses, with an injection of funds to perhaps be re-invested elsewhere in a major boost to the Toffees’ resources.
