Comolli: Batshuayi ideal for Everton

Former Tottenham and Liverpool Director of Football, Damien Comolli, said Michy Batshuayi will thrive in the Barclays Premier League, and cited Everton as a possible destination.

The Blues were linked with the striker back in January 2014, as he was set to leave Standard Liege. He went on to sign for Marseille in the summer after, and has been seen as their talisman since.

Batshuayi scored a penalty against Lorient on the weekend and has 7 goals in Ligue 1 this season.

Speaking to La Phoceen, Comolli said:

“Batshuayi monitored by the Premier League? Yes, he is having a very good season and good strikers of his age are not very numerous. The question will be whether it will be to a top four club, the top 6 or top 10.

“In any case he has the profile, and all English clubs have been following him since his debut at Standard Liege, including me when I was at Liverpool.”

Comolli went on to explain: “A club of the Big 4? No, because their squads are already strong enough. The proof, this summer they have not moved for Lacazette nor Fekir. I see him more at Everton, Liverpool or Tottenham rather than Manchester City or Chelsea.”
