Former Everton midfielder Don Hutchinson has become the latest voice added to a growing chorus of figures discussing Everton’s next manager.
Taking to Twitter when quizzed by fans, Hutchinson named Brighton boss Graham Potter as his preferred target for the Toffees.
When asked, Hutchinson simply replied ‘Graham Potter would play good football mate’, in reference to Potter’s fluid and offensive-minded approach.
The Athletic has previously reported that Benitez and Potter are among two of the managerial candidates being discussed behind the scenes at Goodison Park.
Hutchinson separately issued an unfavourable stance on taking on ex-Liverpool boss Benitez however.
“RAFA (sic) played terrible football at Newcastle tho (sic) mate. Potter would play decent football and would improve players.”, commented Hutchinson.

Under Potter, Brighton have struggled to claw away from relegation battles since the ex-Swansea tactician took the reins at the Amex Stadium.
Despite his flirtations with the drop zone with the Seagulls, Brighton was hailed by Pep Guardiola for the ‘courage’ shown in their creative brand of football.
That dynamic approach earned further plaudits with Potter hailed along with Fulham’s Scott Parker as ‘incredibly good managers’.
Aside from Potter’s style of play, Hutchinson refers to Potter’s ability to ‘improve players’.
As one case study of Potter’s ability to bring through talent, recent Euro 2020 England call-up Ben White retained his spot in the final 26-man squad.
The Brighton academy product has featured in 36 of 38 of Brighton’s Premier League games, with the 2-cap England man cementing himself as a Premier League mainstay.
