Everton agree fee for Byram

Everton have agreed a deal with Leeds United for Sam Byram, according to Paul Joyce of the Express.

Byram has been linked with the Blues for quite a while and Roberto Martinez hinted at bolstering Everton’s right-back position last week, so a move for the talented defender comes as no surprise.

The 22-year-old, who can play at right-back or right-wing, has had an impressive season with the Yorkshire club and is highly regarded by many within the game.

His contract at Elland Road expires this summer and Massimo Cellino admitted that he could be forced into selling his prized asset in the January transfer window, with a host of Premier League clubs vying for the players signature.

But it looks like Everton are in the driving seat and have agreed a fee believed to be in the region of £3million.

With Seamus Coleman, Tyias Browning and Tony Hibbert injured, Byram may be fast racked into Everton’s starting line-up, should a deal go through.
