Everton Fans React to Sam Allardyce’s Comments on Club

Everton fans were left as bemused as they were despondent over some sensational claims about the club from former manager Sam Allardyce.

Everton are set for an uncomfortable reunion with ‘Big Sam’ Allardyce this evening as they come up against his West Brom side desperately looking to avoid relegation this season.

A win against the Baggies could propel the Toffees into the Champions League spots, conversely leaving the ex-Toffees’ boss’ side languishing in the depths of the relegation zone.

The 66-year-old manager spoke to the BBC lamenting a lack of investment and wishes he was given more time at Goodison Park.

Allardyce said: “I would have liked to have stayed and had the investment they have had since.”

Discussing his spell at Everton, where he won less than half of his matches, Allardyce said:

“I would have liked to have seen where I could have taken it.

“I went there when they were struggling badly, rocking on the bottom of Premier League, and finished eighth. No-one at Everton expected that.

“In the end, they made the decision to move me on. I won’t comment on whether they got it right. There have been more managers since I have been there and they have got it going in the direction they want to go – but it has taken a long time.

“As time goes by, as disappointed as you might be, you learn to accept it. I had the privilege of being there, even though it was only for a short period of time and I wanted it to be longer.”

Everton fans took to Twitter to blast Allardyce’s indignation…
