Everton Legend Tim Cahill Issues Teaser After Game Announcement

Everton club legend Tim Cahill has taken to social media to tease his involvement with popular football game FIFA 22.

The 41-year-old former Australia international, who retired from football in 2019, will feature in the game series’ Ultimate Team game mode through the form of a ‘Hero’ card.

Avid Evertonians will be able to add Cahill to their in-game squads and take control of the iconic Australian.

Signing off on a tweet announcing the addition of his unique card to the game, Cahill also indicated that there is ‘lots more to come very soon’ – an open-ended teaser from the ex-Toffees dynamo.

Cahill has featured at four World Cups for the Socceroos and is currently a part of the backroom staff at Everton.

He joined the Toffees for £2million from south London side Millwall in 2004, going on to make 278 appearances for Everton before departing for the MLS with the New York Red Bulls eight years later.

Many Blues will fondly remember the club icon for his 68 goals and 29 assists in a productive spell at Goodison Park.

He also scored 50 goals in 108 caps for his country, cementing himself as Australia’s record goalscorer.

For such a recognised ambassador of the club to be associated with the popular gaming franchise is a credit to Cahill.

Strongly associated with the Toffees, his presence indirectly boosts the reputation of the club as a result – not to mention that the inclusion offers the chance for fans to play vicariously through the ex-Blues hero.
