Everton agree structured £24m package to land Chelsea academy graduate

Everton have finalised the financial structure of their move for a Chelsea winger Tyrique George who impressed on loan at Hill Dickinson Stadium last season, with the deal now worth up to £24m.

The club passed on their original £25m option to sign the player outright, instead renegotiating a lower guaranteed fee of £18m, with a further £6m available through add-ons tied to European qualification and appearances, as reported by Fabrizio Romano. Chelsea have also secured a 15% sell-on clause as part of the agreement.

The move follows on from Everton’s summer transfer tracker, which had the deal listed as agreed in principle earlier this month. It is now understood to be finalised in structure, with only personal terms and a medical remaining before completion.

The winger made 11 appearances during his loan spell at Everton, starting once, without registering a goal or assist. David Moyes praised his attitude at the end of that loan, describing him as “an excellent boy with an excellent work-rate.”

He is set to become Everton’s second permanent signing of the summer, following Hayden Hackney’s arrival from Middlesbrough, with Merlin Rohl’s loan move also having been made permanent.
