Five right-backs who could be Everton’s first choice instead of Sidibe

Everton’s chiefs have not yet come to an agreement over whether or not to hand Djibril Sidibe a permanent contract, according to Times Sport.

The Frenchman joined the Toffees on a season-long loan from Monaco in the summer and have the option to sign him on a permanent basis for just £12.7million.

However, Times Sport claim that the club currently don’t know what to do with the 27-year old’s future, claiming that there is yet to be a ‘unified decision’ on the long-term viability of the full-back.

Sidibe has competed with Seamus Coleman for a right-back starting berth this season, while Jonjoe Kenny will return from his season-long loan with Schalke in the summer, most likely looking to push on and nail down a starting spot.

While the World Cup winner has looked dangerous pushing forward for Everton, he has struggled for consistency in his defensive duties, proving culpable on a number of occasions, including against Arsenal last Sunday.

Ahead of the summer, we’ve looked at five other options who could become Everton’s starting right-back next season if the club did decide not to sign Sidibe on a permanent basis.
