Lennon returns

Lennon returns

Everton have signed Aaron Lennon on a permanent deal, thought to be in the region of £4.5m.

The Englishman is the Blues second signing of the day, after Ramiro Funes Mori completed his £9.5m transfer this morning.

Lennon enjoyed a successful loan spell on Merseyside last season. The winger was picked up on a six-month loan deal until the end of the season and was one of the catalysts of Everton’s upturn in form in the final months of the campaign.

Lennon played 12 times for the Blues, scoring 2 goals and impressing the Goodison faithful with his determination and desire to perform. He often put in tireless performances and left defenders for dead after getting into a sprint. Aaron was also played centrally in some games towards the end of last season, a position in which many fans have criticised the club for not recruiting in, Lennon could end up filling this role on occasions.

The deal rounds off a transfer window that has seen Gerard Deulofeu, Tom Cleverley, David Henen, Mason Holgate, Leandro Rodriguez and Ramiro Funes Mori all sign for the Blues.
